Parliament, Thursday 10 June 2021 – President Cyril Ramaphosa will appear before the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) in a vitual plenary sitting today to answer questions for oral reply.
Holding regular question and answer sessions is one way in which Parliament, as provided by section 92(2) of the Constitution, holds the President and the Executive to account.
Up to six questions about matters of national or international importance may be asked during the session. The six questions scheduled for today's sitting cover a range of matters, including:
- The damage to public infrastructure
- Climate change as priority of Government
- The Implementation of the Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan (ERRP)
- The appointment of election panel/postponement of elections
- The upsurge of violent conflicts in Africa and
- The strengthening the fight against Gender Based Violence and Femicide
